THE REAL KOMBUCHA REVOLUTION REQUEST TO CEASE AND DESIST

Cease & Desist.jpg

A LETTER co-signed by a consortium of authentic Brit craft kombucha brewers - which has been in the works for some time - was finally emailed 1 August to UK-made and imported “kombucha” variant brands sold en mass on the high street (click PDF to read).

It calls for label transparency in accordance with UK regulations to create a fairer, more level playing field for producers of authentic kombucha and variants thereof alike, and to enable consumers to make fully informed choices about the “kombucha” they buy.

We’ve given them 30 days to respond, so watch this space! Meanwhile please help spread the word and tag your friends and followers into this post to stop them being misled by deceptive, non-compliant “Kombucha” labelling.

• Are you a UK-based small batch craft brewer who would like to join our campaign for real kombucha and become a signatory for ‘The Real Kombucha Revolution’? Email info@gokombucha.co.uk confirming you don’t process your brews in any way - and you’re in!

• Note from GO Kombucha Founder Gary Leigh:

“In an age where lies are normalised and truth is scorned seemingly at every turn, I am spearheading this campaign from our little corner of the ‘boochiverse’ to shine a light for genuine artisan brewers who uphold the fundamental principles of integrity and authenticity in crafting traditional whole kombucha.

“We will no longer look the other way and pretend there’s no major issue to contend with with the deceptions and smoke and mirrors that are rife in this sector. If this campaign helps real craft kombucha brewers succeed more quickly than the 17 years it took me to break even, then it will be worth it.

“Let’s toast the spirit of nature’s gift and spread the truth that not all kombuchas are the same.”
